Reuben Bechtold
Owner & Lead Craftsman
Reuben Bechtold is a third-generation craftsman and trained artist with a BA from SUNY Purchase. He has a history of taking on unique, creative projects, plus 15 years experience as a licensed general contractor/master carpenter. He comes with a fine artist's passion for realizing a vision and a builder's dedication to quality methods and practices.
Bechtold has collaborated with van Enter Studio (art conservationists) to restore a "Grand Sphere" Pomodoro sculpture in Des Moines, Iowa, and a cast iron façade and mosaic murals in Dallas’ historic Union Station; The latter received an Award of Excellence in Texas Construction. He has also partnered with artist Dannielle Tegeder, fabricating (with Port Stained Glass) her large-scale metal and glass mobile sculpture commissioned by Hamilton College. It remains on permanent display.
He has built a series of exhibits for Evette Rios (lifestyle host on Slice TV; former host, CBS' Restaurant Rehab and correspondent, ABC’s The Chew), including “Come in from the Rain,” Winner, Best in Show, for DIFFA/Architectural Digest’s Dining by Design event, 2011. His Dining by Design exhibit for designer Marc Blackwell, "The Comma Dining Pod," was featured in Architectural Digest in 2014.
